Charles C. Fenwick, Jr.
Charles C. Fenwick, Jr. graduated with a B.A.
degree from Trinity College in 1970. He began working for the investment-banking firm
of Robert Garrett & Sons in 1970.
That firm was absorbed by Alex. Brown & Sons in 1974,
and he continued working there until 1979.
Mr. Fenwick’s experience in the automobile
industry began with Valley Motors in 1979.
He has been the General Manager of the Cockeysville-based company since
1984 and currently serves as President and General Manager.
An advocate of land preservation, Fenwick
seized the opportunity to help save the 300 acres at Shawan
Downs from development while ensuring the land’s preservation by virtue of a
world-class equestrian center and annual steeplechase race, The Legacy Chase.
Fenwick is a five-time winner of The Maryland Hunt Cup,
ten-time winner of the Grand National Steeplechase, three-time winner of My
Lady’s Manor, three-time winner of the Virginia Gold Cup and in 1980, he won the English Grand National. In addition, he is a member of the State of Maryland
Athletic Hall of Fame as a steeplechase jockey.
